Yes, Trysil is regularly ranked as Norway's most family-friendly ski resort. There are several ski schools for children and many blue/green runs, plus a large kids' area at Trysilfjellet. A green piste runs right outside Bakkebygrenda 1B – ideal for short ski sessions with young children.
The season runs from November to late April. High season covers Christmas/New Year, the Norwegian school holiday weeks 7–9 (February) and Easter. Mid-season is January and March. Snow conditions are typically best in February–March.
Trysil is around 215 km northeast of Oslo – roughly 2.5–3 hours by car via highways 3 and 25. The nearest airport is Scandinavian Mountain Airport. Oslo Gardermoen (OSL) is also an option, with dedicated ski buses to Trysil during the season.
The chalet is fully equipped with kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, TV, WiFi, sauna and hot tub. Bed linen and towels can be added at booking via Skistar. You bring personal items and ski clothing. Departure cleaning is always included.
Yes, the nearest ski rental is Skistar Rental at Trysil Turistsenter, about a 5-minute walk from the chalet. They rent downhill skis, snowboards, cross-country skis, helmets and boots. Pre-book at skistar.com to skip the queue. In summer, mountain bikes are available to rent.
